Rainbow provides you with multiple ways to share files. You can either share a file stored on your computer or from your Rainbow, capture a new photo using your camera (if availabe), or share a YouTube video.
Note: Shared files are uploaded to the Rainbow server and are available to participants in the conversation, even when you are not online.
Tips: When you send a photo, PDF, or video file, a preview/thumbnail is displayed.
Send files from your Computer or Mobile
Rainbow allows you to exchange any files saved on your computer or mobile.
- Open a conversation.
- Select the attach icon to the right of the text input area.
- Select " Attach from my computer". A dialog box will open to select the file to attach.
- Select the file to attach.
- Press the send icon or hit the enter key on your keyboard to send the message.
Tips: Display all the files shared in the conversation by selecting the "Sent and Received Documents" icon above the "Contact information" tab. In this case, all documents sent or received during the selected conversation are listed . It's a simple way of finding a document.
- Opne a conversation.
- Tap the Attach" button.
- Select "Files".
- Select the file to attach.
- Tap the send icon to send the file.
Tips: To display all files shared during a conversation, tap " More options" and select "See shared files".
Send files from your Rainbow Storage
Select any file from your personal Rainbow storage space and attach the file to your conversation.
- Select the conversation.
- Select the attach icon to the right of the text input area.
- Select " Attach from my Rainbow". File Storage Rainbow will open to select a file.
- All your files stored in your Rainbow are listed, allowing you to sort them by date, name, size, and file type (image, video, etc.). Select a file. You can also select multiple files at once by checking the bullet.
- Click on the "Attach" button.
- You can also write messages in the chat bar.
- Press the send icon or hit the enter key on your keyboard to send the message and your files.
- Open a conversation.
- Tap the Attach" button.
- Select " Rainbow ".
- All your files stored in your Rainbow Sharing are listed, allowing you to sort them by date, name, size, and file type (image, video, etc.). Select a file. You can also select multiple files at once by checking the bullet.
- Tap the send icon . To cancel, tap the cancel icon in the upper right corner of the file.
Share a Youtube Video
Rainbow allows you to directly share a YouTube video, which can be played directly within the conversation.
- Select the conversation.
- Select the attach icon to the right of the text input area.
- Select " Attach a Youtube video". A dialog box will open to enter the Youtube URL of the video to attach.
- Click on the "Attach" button (or "Cancel" to abort) to send the Youtube video within the conversation.
Tips: Using Rainbow service to share files is beneficial as it helps avoid duplicating files every time you want to share them, thereby reducing environmental impact.
Note: Please note that the video is instantly shared as soon as you click the "attach" button. You can always delete a message if it doesn't suit your needs. Learn more.
Take a Photo to send
Rainbow allows you to use your computer's webcam to take a photo and send it. While this feature is more suitable for the mobile application, it can still be convenient to send a photo captured with the webcam during a conversation, depending on your needs.
- Select the conversation.
- Select the attach icon to the right of the text input area.
- Select " Take a photo".
- The camera on your computer is activated. Choose "Take a photo" to capture an image. Once taken, you can either "Redo" if the photo is not satisfactory or "Use Photo" to attach it to the message.
- Press the send icon or hit the enter key on your keyboard to send the message.
Note: Your computer has to be equiped with a camera.
- Select the conversation.
- Tap the Attach button.
- Select "Camera".
- Once taken a photo, tap "apply".
- Press the send icon to send the image.
Share your Location
Instead of telling people where you are, quickly send them your current location based on your device's GPS features: there will be no confusion about where you are or where to meet. This function is available on Android and iOS.
- Tap the

Attach button and select "Location".
Note: Location services must be enabled on your device.
Warning: Feature is not available in following countries: Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria and Vietnam.
Send Voice Messages
Sometimes, it is useful and quicker to send voice messages instead of text messages. Rainbow allows you to record a voice message and attach it to a conversation.
- Select the conversation.
- To initiate recording, click on the microphone icon located to the right of the text input area.
- The slowly blinking red icon indicates that the recording is in progress, and the duration of the ongoing recording is displayed.
- Click on the cross icon to cancel the recording or on the validate iconto send the recorded message.
Note: You can listen to the voice message at any time immediately after it has been sent.
- Select the conversation.
- Tap on the " microphone" icon to start recording. You can pause the recording by tapping " Hold". Tap " Restart" to resume recording.
- You can listen to the recording by tapping " Play".
- Tap " Send" to send the recording, or "Delete" to start over.
Note: You can listen to the voice message at any time immediately after it has been sent.
