Search for Text Messages

The Rainbow interface allows you to search for text within all messages or within a specific message.

Tips: Throughout the conversation, a lot of information is shared. Don't think that this information is lost. Consider using the search function, which allows you to easily retrieve specific information.

Search all Conversations

  1. Select the search bar search.svgat the top-left of the window.
  2. Enter the text to search for. Conversations containing the searched text will be displayed instead of the list of recent conversations.
  3. Select a conversation. The number of occurrences within the conversation will be displayed.
  4. The most recent occurrence is highlighted in the conversation. Use the up arrow arrow_dropup.svgto view older occurrences. Use the down arrow arrow_dropdown.svg to navigate back to more recent occurrences.
  5. Modify the text in the search bar or cancel the search and return to the home screen by selecting the cross clear.svgin the search bar.
  1. Enter the word you wish to search for in the search bar above.
  2. You can search in People, Contacts, Bubbles, Text, Channels or Companies.
    To search for text in a conversation, select the Text tab. The number of occurrences within the conversation will be displayed.
  3. The most recent occurrence is highlighted in the conversation. Use the up arrow arrow_dropup.svgto view older occurrences. Use the down arrow arrow_dropdown.svg to navigate back to more recent occurrences.
  4. Modify the text in the search bar or cancel the search and return to the home screen by selecting the cross clear.svgin the search bar.

Search in a Specific Conversation

  1. Select the conversation in which you want to search for text.
  2. Open the contextual menu more_vert.svg"Other actions" on the right side of the top bar.
  3. Select search.svg"Show search bar" to display the search bar for the selected conversation.
  4. Enter the text to search for. The number of occurrences within the conversation will be displayed.
  5. The most recent occurrence is highlighted in the conversation. Use the up arrow arrow_dropup.svgto view older occurrences. Use the down arrow arrow_dropdown.svg to navigate back to more recent occurrences.
  6. Modify the text in the search bar or clear the search by selecting the cross clear.svgin the search bar.
  7. You can hide the search bar at any time by opening the contextual menu more_vert.svg"Other actions" and by selecting search--hide.svg"Hide search bar".
