Take Control of a Remote Computer
It can be helpful to take control of your correcpondent's desktop, for instance, to assist them with a task or troubleshoot. Rainbow allows you to take control of remote desktop if your contact are using the Rainbow Desktop application for Windows or Mac.
When you take control of the remote desktop, you can perform actions on the remote desktop under the watchful eye of your contact.
Tips: You can download the Rainbow Desktop application from the Rainbow Help Center at https://support-beta.openrainbow.com/hc/en-us/p/download.
- Open the contextual menu on the right side of the conversation bar during the conversation.
- You can either request to take control of your contact's computer by selecting " Request computer control" menu or your contact can give you control of their computer by selecting " Give computer control" menu.
- Your correspondent can either "Accept" or "Refuse". If accepted, they can choose to can grant control of their computer by sharing a screen ("Screen") or just of an application ("Application"). You will then have control over their computer or the selected application.
- To stop sharing, select the " Stop computer control" by opening the contextual menu on the right side of the conversation bar, or by ending the conversation .
